Peter Jameson was the Managing Director of RaCity Sales Ltd., the company responsible for selling Radio City's airtime. He was also a DJ, hosting the weekly Basildon Request Show. Sadly Peter died in January 2015 and we are very grateful to his son Philip for sharing some of his memorabilia with us. |
Peter Jameson, right. We wondered if the other man was station boss Reg Calvert but his daughter Susan tells us that it is not. Can anyone identify him? |

Reg Calvert, City's boss, acknowledges Peter's resignation. Click to enlarge. In May 1966 Reg was planning to go into business with Radio London to
launch a sweet music station called UKGM to replace Radio City on Shivering Sands. Sadly it wasn't to be. See here for details.

This undated local newspaper article must be from some time after Peter's offshore radio career - probably the seventies - when someone getting a mobile phone was newsworthy! Also pictured,
although without any explanation, Tommy Vance.
