Radio Caroline Top 50,
20th June 1964

This chart was noted down by listener Ate Harsta and passed to The Pirate Radio Hall of Fame by Hans Knot. Our grateful thanks to both of them.

The Top 50 programme was only two hours long so it wasn't possible to play all fifty records. As a result there are gaps in Ate's notes. In the early days of the station, Radio Caroline's chart was very much based on the one published in Melody Maker so we have filled those gaps using the positions in that magazine's Top 50. They are marked mm. If you spot any mistakes, or can confirm the positions, please get in touch.

Top Six EP no.5 *
(no artist listed)

* The Top Six label issued a series of 6 track EPs during the mid-sixties. Each contained cover versions of recent hits performed by unidentified musicians. The label was a joint project between Australian musician / entrepreneur Bill Wellings and Pye Records. The songs on this particular EP were Juliet, A Little Loving, Someone Someone, My Boy Lollipop, No Particular Place To Go and The Rise And Fall Of Flingel Bunt. The original versions of these were all still in the Caroline Top 50 so it is not surprising that the DJ decided to drop this EP of covers from the countdown show.

The links from the songs on this page lead to the Amazon MP3 Store where you can hear short audio clips of the tracks and customers in the UK can buy downloads. Please see this note.

There are a number of other offshore charts listed on The Pirate Radio Hall of Fame. Full details here.

Last week's Caroline Top 50 is here. We don't have next week's but the one for 4th July is over the page.
