Radio Caroline Top Tracks
15th July 1984.

On 17th June 1984 the Album Top 30 chart show moved to a later time, Sunday 6-9pm. On the following Sunday, 24th June, Caroline was off the air so there was no chart broadcast. From Sunday 1st July the LP chart show was replaced by the ‘Caroline Top Tracks’ programme. The new chart featured 30 songs, a mixture of album tracks and singles, and there was a separate Top 10 album list.

This chart - the third Top Tracks countdown - was spotted, pinned on the studio wall, in a photo taken on the Ross Revenge by Frank Schmitz, shared on Flickr by Ben Meijering.

* This track is simply listed as “Every .... ”. The Police had a hit with “Every Breath You Take” in 1983. We think this is possibly the version of the song that Sting had recently sung on the TV show Spitting Image. The lyrics had been amended to “Every Bomb You Make”. We think the guys on the Ross Revenge might have recorded it from the television and added it to their playlist.
