Pam Wood's collection

Grahme Wood has very kindly forwarded some papers he found while sorting through the belongings of his late mother Pam. She was a big fan of the sixties offshore stations and, in particular of DJs Ed Moreno and Graham Gill. She ran Graham's fan club.

Pam began writing to Ed when he was presenting the Date With Romance programme on Radio Invicta and their correspondence continued over many years as the broadcaster's career went through numerous ups and downs (see next page).

On this page we have a couple of press cuttings from December 1964 which Pam kept, reporting the tragic deaths of Invicta boss Tom Pepper, DJ Simon Ashley and engineer Martin Shaw. Our grateful thanks to Grahme for passing them on to The Pirate Radio Hall of Fame.

This photo is not from Pam's collection. It was kindy provided by Martin Kayne.
It shows Radio Invicta boss Tom Pepper (Harry Featherbee) at Folkestone Harbour.
Picture published by the British Travel and Holiday Association in 1964.

More from Pam's collection on the next page.
