Many thanks to Denis Hoare for sending this very detailed article from Practical Wireless magazine about the court cases involving Radio Essex and Radio 390 which took place in November 1966. By the time the article was published (the cover date is February 1967) Radio 390 had returned to the air but BBMS, the renamed Radio Essex, had closed forever. Despite what it says in the final paragraph, Radio Essex never had a 25 kilowatt transmitter. It was considerably lower-powered than that. |
