The Carl Mitchell papers

Carl Mitchell

We continue browsing through the memorabila collected by Radio Caroline South's Carl Mitchell, kindly passed to The Pirate Radio Hall of Fame by Hans Knot.

This page contains some photos of Alan Clark who had worked on Radio City and Radio 390 (broadcasting as ‘Christopher Clark’ on the latter) before moving to Amsterdam in 1968 to work for Radio Netherlands, the Dutch equivalent of the World Service. Alan shared a house in the city with Carl Mitchell and Stevie Gee, which is why - presumably - these pictures were found among Carl's papers. Alan was friends with the guys relaunching Radio Caroline in 1973, and appears in some group photos taken at the time, but we are not aware of him ever presenting any programmes on the station.
