Terje Isberg was a Swedish listener to the British offshore stations. He was a fan of Johnnie Walker in particular and would frequently record his shows. He has compiled this Swinging Radio England Fun 50 by listening back to tapes he made in 1966 (see here too). Can anyone fill in the blanks or clear up the uncertainties? |

* Terje is uncertain about these positions. It wasn't always easy to hear the distant radio signal clearly through the late night interference and atmospherics. He thinks Johnnie said The Excels record was at
number 6 but can't be sure. He also thinks Johnnie mentioned two different records as being at number 16; and he isn't 100% positive that Otis Redding was at number 15. Finally he couldn't make out if the Shades of Blue record was
at number 24 or 34. Can anyone help?

The links from the songs on this page lead to the Amazon MP3 Store where you can hear short audio clips of the tracks and customers in the UK can buy downloads. Please see this note. Radio City's City Sixty for this week is here; and the Caroline Countdown of Sound is here. Big L's Fab 40 can be found on the Radio London website. There are a number of other offshore charts listed on The Pirate Radio Hall of Fame. Full details here. Last week's chart is here. The next Fun 50 we have is that of 8th October. |
